Galileo Project

In our search for alien lifeforms, we have until now mainly focused on detecting electromagnetic signals that could give away their existence (e.g. the SETI project). But now Avi Loeb at Harvard has initiated a project, the Galileo Project, that will look for physical objects associated with extraterrestrial technological equipment, also known as "technosignatures" of alien civilisations. The detection of Oumuamua in 2017 (the first detected interstellar object to visit our solar system) sparked a debate among astronomers regarding its true origin, and Avi Loeb in particular has been at the center of that debate. He has written a book about it and has been on a number of podcasts to explain his views (here is his conversation with Sean Carroll). I hope they find something!
